I'm working on my gratitude this week, keeping a journal and writing down the things I'm thankful for every day. Some days it's little things like glittery nail polish and cozy bath robes. Some days though, it's big things -- like the amazing women who came out on Saturday and donated their money, time, skills, space and/or baked goods towards Curar x Puerto Rico, our event that benefited rebuilding efforts on the island. ->
Building on last week's theme of self-love, focusing on little things you're grateful for can literally change your perspective by allowing you to focus on the things that make you smile, which can, in turn, make you a happier person overall. As we enter the winter and holiday seasons -- which can be a difficult time for many -- it's particularly important to take the time you need for self-love and self-care, whatever form that may take. If you're in the DC area and could use a little extra love, there's an event on 11/19 to address Holiday Blues with licensed therapists and a support group. Learn more and sign up here (s/o to A Creative DC for putting it on our radar!).
As for me, there's a lot I'm grateful for these days: a safe home, a loving family, a beautiful and supportive community. But ALSO today I'm grateful for Claudia Arango's K I L L E R playlist from Saturday's event. It's the perfect mix of energy + chill vibes, and I'll be listening on repeat all morning. I'm sharing the good vibes, below -- Enjoy!
